I know a lot of my colleagues despise the idea of traveling by land for several hours. In this era of cheap domestic plane fares, everyone’s mindset seemed to be fixed on the comforts of air travel. I changed all that once.
Weeks ago I was ordered to pick a venue for the agency’s planning confab. I opted for the awesome Bolinao town, the western edge of Pangasinan facing the South China Sea. Problem is, the place is accessible only by land travel and for several hours. So how did I got the group to make it to that far-flung town? By spreading a big white lie, but a well-intentioned one, that we can make it to Bolinao in around 4 hours. We arrived after 7 hours.
All the same, Bolinao is just too overwhelming I can see their faces transform from frowns to like, “Wow, it’s worth the trip!”
So if you haven’t been to this town, believe me, paradise is a mere 3 hours away.
