The 2019 Tinagba Festival photography competition is a brainchild of yours truly together with Raymark Barredo of the Sinabukid Scout Mountaineers. This is what happens when a photo loco and a hiker join hands.

Plus, we summoned the PR of Joemar Orbon of Lakwatserong Irigenyo fame. PR is another term for charms maybe. “Lakwatsero” the Filipino word for wanderer. So we snatched him straight from the clouds.

Tinagba Festival is a thanksgiving-fiesta for good harvest. Basically celebrated with a simple parade of damulags and carts, today it is spruced up with streetdance parade and fantillusions.

I have taken it upon me to promote — not only this local custom — but actually the art of photography here in Iriga city. And I can see it paying off somehow in the eye of this young lady here, Miss Iola Mie G. Lontok (Iola as in “Ayowla”). Our Grand Prize winner for this year’s Tinagba Festival photo competition featuring her winning piece “The Harvest.”

Her entry got the nods of my handpicked bigatin judges Edwin C. Tuyay, Joel Mataro, and Ateneo Sta. Ines.

No intros needed.

Salamat Maestros..
