My genuine thanks to the PhilWiki Community for having me as one of the jurors in this year’s Wiki Loves Monuments Photo Competition. An honor!
With thousands of entries to sift through, how on earth are we to cope were it not for the online system.
On the minus side, photographers were so focused on churches/cathedrals. It seems ninety percent of the images were places of worships. Missing on other monuments of great interest.
Earlier this year, I was one of the hopefuls at the Wiki Loves Earth (Philippines) contest, placing only second in this heavily participated event.
The 2018 Canon Photomarathon saw a new generation of photomarathoners. Did the usual suspects finally retire? I looked around and they were no longer there. (Or is it because of the PHP500 joining fee?)
The event used to be for free and with tons of goodies and a free lunch. Everything’s on the flip-side now. My agent from the Canon Marketing buzzed me, the company had a sales slump this year.
Or are they losing the DSLR-cameraphone wars?
At the Camerahaus Photolympics, my first sabak in this photomarathon-like competition. Again, down and out at the Mall of Asia grounds.
In Taal, Batangas, I chanced upon this “street gallery” on the patio of Basilica of St. Martin of Tours.
Hurriedly took a shot before the show runs out of spectacle.
