Rinconada district is one of the languishing areas of Bicolandia. Any manoy or manay can attest to these two issues which make life not easier for them:
One, dirty rotten politics.
The blackouts can be traced to dirty rotten politics.
The Rinconadans can boast of their central business district in Iriga city — a domain held by a political genealogy.
But there is not much Iriga city can offer. Once I had to leave town and travel for hours for a piece of tire nut.
Rinconadans are blessed geographically. They have the beauty of Mount Asog, three great lakes, beaches, mineral springs, and large farming areas. Unfortunately, most folks now turn to operating tricycles and pedicabs for a living.
While some just have to leave this land.
I have photowalked four of seven towns in the Rinconada District of Bicol during the Wikipedia Takes Rinconada. Nabua, Baao, Bato and Iriga city. Places you’ve never heard or seen before. All in one fell swoop.
All hurried shots.
