It’s amazing how airlines never fail to feed you of flight advisories several MONTHS prior to departure date, and then hit you with a surprise change in fly-time on the flight date itself. Ever since I got the Cebu – CDO plane ticket, PAL has been filling me with flight updates. But not today. Apparently, flight sked changes too often it’s like a peso-dollar exchange rate. I can’t believe we’re waiting 3 hours for a 45-minute flight.
Earlier on, after checking in, I dropped by the Seafarer’s Memorial Park along Mactan Channel just to gawk at this enormous beauty:
The copperplate print says “The Second Mandaue – Mactan Bridge: World’s Longest Center Span Extradosed Cable-Stayed Bridge.”
Whatever that means.
The structure’s DNA
A complete contradiction from the surface. Above: fast-moving. Down below: unhurried life. Above: busy. Below: mothballed.
Above: thunderous. Below:soft.
All those times I have been in this city, in and out of Mactan, on and off this bridge, I have always been curious and oftentimes attempted to see what’s underneath. Fun to see things from a different view.
