A mother and child were rummaging through a collection of tablewares at a bargain counter inside one of Malate’s more prominent shopping center. Suddenly, a plastic casserole slipped from the little fella’s hands and on to the floor it crashed. The mother tried hurriedly to place the fractured dish back on the shelf, then both scampered away leaving the saleslady watching agape. Instantly, a lady guard jumped into the scene, checked the broken bowl and gave the two a chase.
The billionaire couple owner of this hypermarket chain is not in any way going to let the mother rob them of a single centavo.
There and then, the lady guard returned with the piteously-clad mother and child in tow. They’re going to squeeze every peso from her shabby pants to compensate for the busted item. In this season of giving and forgiving.
So much for being an accidental audience in someone else’s tough spot today, in last week’s Photomarathon event at the Walled City, I captured some bits of other people’s animateness. And frozen them in time — forever.
