On my next “pueblo plunge” series, a summer belly flop on this unheard-of watercourse in Gingaroy. So where is this, it’s not even in the map. I doubt if I even spelled the name right. Just another nameless streamlet neath the Jose Villafuerte Highway in Camarines Sur.
The tropic 36º in Sagrada is a mean one. Another red white dog day afternoon in this part of Bicolandia. Adding up to the agony is my “big head”, an aftereffect from a night of heavy booze with some friends here.
So we drove from San Ramon to Hanawan and finally to Gingaroy in search for Mother Nature’s answer to this summertime blues they call HANGOVER.
OASIS. From the rainforest of Mount Isarog, through my feet and a long way out into the Lagonoy Gulf. I don’t really mind if there’s a carabao sitting somewhere up there where these waters are coming from.
In fact I lied on the flowing waters all day. Intermittently taking shots at the local plungers from the upper side of the stream. Until some glitch bogged the point-and-shoot down.
This is actually a long-delayed post. Right now the skies are much different and are filled with thunderbolts. And right now I’m sitting in this office room with a wandering mind, AND in my head is a tune– “Summertime” by the Zombies.
Its summertime and the livin’ is easy…
