Rewind: Following our rain-busted picnic at Lake Buhi, the weather went from bad to worse for a couple of days that we had to confine ourselves in the box and wait for the soonest sunshine so we could get on with the next phase of our CamSur joy ride. From the lake, we took refuge in this enticing hideaway for some beers and music. It’s called the Bersabaren Resort, a very familiar one located somewhere in the outskirts of Iriga City. And we left just in time before another cloudburst caught us on the way back home.
Two days later the skies cleared up and we’re back on the road again..
Joy ride part two is a spin around the ins and outs of Camarines Sur’s Rinconada territory and beyond through the AH26 or the Pan-Philippine Highway(ok ok..the Maharlika Highway). From Iriga City to the farm valleys of San Ramon and Sagrada; to the Watersports Complex in Pili; to getting lost in the arteries of Naga City; from Ba-ao to the unpopulated resorts of Nabua and back.
DRIVING BELOW 60. Consider this as traveling at the speed of a leisure ride. A drive along the country lanes with its scenic distractions makes a road obstruction out of me. So make a pass, people. But you can always “Honk if you want to see my middle finger.”
