Alexander Supertramp grasped it only a little too late when he wrote “Happines is only real, when shared.” I am converted by that line a long time ago. But what has the guy got to do with this post is, his lengthy biopic kept me up all Saturday night I almost failed to rise up for the scheduled Sunday morning roll. But I did. And so unlike Alexander, allow me to SHARE with you all the happiness of an October morning spin around Manila Bay and Intramuros, The Walled City. BTW, Alexander Supertramp is Christopher McCandless. Hit THIS for more of the young renegade. I can relate to his Lord Byron-ism but that was a long time ago. This, now, is the era of Photo-sharing. So share I shall.
People will do anything to draw crowds at the Baywalk. No matter how cheap and silly. From fortune telling to playing crazy musical instruments. And here, whatever the attraction is, must be pretty serious as the face of the crowd suggests.
From the Baywalk, I pedaled my way through the car-less Roxas Boulevard (temporarily closed to traffic) and headed off for a spin at the walled city of Intramuros. I think my shot of the motionless Muralla Street above is both calming and eerie. Like a ghost town and no one to bump into. A perfect solitude for an undisturbed ride!
A horse-drawn carriage for a little of that 18th century feel. But the price they charge here is a rip-off! Maybe a nice old fashioned way to get around the Walled City, but my horse, below, is much better.
Time now for some pit stop!
Photobiking, it’s the new word. :-0
