This intruder entered the scene just when I found a dead-on shot to capture the blue skies’ vivid reflection on the calm waters of Loom River here in Borongan, in the island of Samar. The next calm display would be in the next few more minutes. Or maybe never.
Loom River is a dragon. It slithers from deep in the rain forests of Eastern Samar through the Borongan pueblo and into the open waters of the Philippine Sea in the Pacific, which is the business center of my paddler here who appears to be homing in after another busy day.
On the flip side, I’m right in the middle of a week-long vacation here in this island province, just awkwardly looking around feeling like a total stranger. A fidgety walk here (or on any strange land) is always better than a day at the office.
