Ondoy Brings Early Christmas Treat Too..To Some

October 13, 2009

merryThe halls of some government offices are filled with cheerful smiles these past few days in the aftermath of typhoon Ondoy. Why? Because right after the horror storm, a number of government agencies are quick on the draw in shelling out unconditional cold cash to their employees in the name of EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. The amount varies and depends on the organization’s  fund capacity. Some agencies granted about 7 to 10 thousand pesos while others were generous enough in handing over a whooping 20 to 50K! Not everyone went through hell caused  by Ondoy. There should be a line drawn between the rightful recepients of financial aid and the “free riders”.

Aside from this, Malacañang also ordered the immediate and early  release of all government workers’ yearend bonus as  an additional form of financial assistance to the typhoon victims (mind you, typhoon vicims). PLUS, the prioritized granting of calamity loan assistance thru PagIbig and GSIS to all members, victims or not, as ordered by the Palace. There’s cash in the air! Can’t help thinking that while some are down in the dumps, the others are partying the days away. Isn’t it an odd world we live in Mr. Belton?
