A Mountain of Plastic Bags!
October 3, 2009Donate but please, as much as possible, refrain from using those plastic bags! Or at least minimize the use. Typhoon Ondoy produced a number of heroes and unleashed countless bighearted Filipinos from every sector in what may be the biggest relief operation in decades. One pack of a relief good usually consists of rice, instant noodles, sardine cans, bottled water and some used clothing. But considering these relief goods are neatly packed using PLASTIC BAGS, how many hundreds and thousands of these plastic bags will ironically be “dumped” to those calamity areas? Everybody knows these plastic junks clog our drainage systems. And surely, everybody knows by now, how terrifying the consequence will be.
